Why do you need to replace the oxygen sensor?

  • A worn-out oxygen sensor can lead to increased gasoline consumption, higher exhaust emissions, accelerated damage to the catalytic converter, and various engine performance issues.
  • In regions with emissions regulations, a faulty Check Engine Light (CEL) and O2 sensor can cause inspection failures. Our Mini catalytic converters can resolve these issues, allowing your vehicle to pass inspections smoothly.
  • Replacing the oxygen sensor is an effective solution for resolving P0420, P0042, and P0430 fault codes.

The P0420 code popped up while the car was running fine. I swapped in a new set of plugs, but they turned out to be bad and caused some misfires, which led to the P0420 code. I decided to give this a try. Just keep in mind that everything else with the vehicle needs to be in good working order before installing this. If you have any engine issues, you need to fix them first, or this won’t work properly. Also, make sure to pick the right one for your application. This was for the catalytic converter near the firewall, and the straight design was the best fit for me. If I need to replace the one in the front, I’d need a 90° one since there’s not enough space. Installation wasn’t super easy, but that’s more about the car than the part itself. Overall, it worked great, and I’d definitely use it again if needed.
